Why we love host homes!

We could not do what we do without host homes in the summer! Our staff appreciates the time they get to spend in your home, and we believe it is of immense value. Our hope is for our college staff to get to be a part of your family for the week. Whatever your family is doing, we are just excited to do it alongside you! We pray that our staff will be a blessing to you as you are a blessing to us.

Here is what some of our staffers have to say about host homes

Lillie “Fitz” Burnett: “Host homes have completely changed my life. You step into a home on Saturday not knowing anything about them and leave the next Saturday as family. To get to see the way they love and serve is so amazing. It’s so cool to be invited into a house and see the way the parents show the love of Christ to their kids and the example that they’re setting for them. I think we always step in wanting to love and serve the family in any way we can and we leave feeling so loved by them. I’m going on my fourth summer and every summer I’ve stayed with the same family, they have become my home away from home. They have made us feel so welcomed and their house is now a peaceful place for me. From walking trails, boating, family game night, and late night talks it has completely changed my life. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without all the host homes that I’ve gotten to stay in over the years!”

Grace “Pookie” Fairlie: “I love host homes because you come home from a tiring day to be loved and poured into by amazing, God-fearing families! I still talk to many of my host homes and I consider that a huge blessing!”

Joey “Ham Sandwich” Montoya: “They truly treat you as family. I have stayed in touch with host homes from years ago.”

Annie “Bunny” Prather: “The opportunity to witness examples of parents raising their children to know the Lord and getting to truly love families where they’re at and serve them in their own homes!”

Jake “Microthrone” Farris: “Generosity really is a fundamental aspect of our faith and host homes display that so well. Them opening up to us so quickly about life beyond college is always a huge blessing to me!”

Anna “Emu” Keistler: “ I love host homes because of the late night chats, advice, and space for freedom and vulnerability. Five years after staying with a family and they were one of the first to make my wedding guest list!”
